Unfortunately, this year I have encountered a deterioration in health which has resulted in long term sick leave. WebStatutory sick pay is £99.35 a week (£109.40 from 6 April 2024). It can be paid for up to 28 weeks. An employer does not have to pay statutory sick pay for the first 3 qualifying days of sickness absence. These 3 days are called 'waiting days'. Statutory sick pay is the minimum amount employers must pay. Some employers might pay more.
