You need 2 trekking poles to set it up but every serious hiker should be carrying poles, if not for traction, incase of injury. The Solong is listed at 30.6 oz without stakes then add seam sealing and .8 oz awning pole and it would be a wash weight wise. The Solong is definetly longer at 100 long x 50 in center x 30 at feet and head. The Fly Creek is 86 long x 52 at head x 42 at feet.
