Don't forget Glocks are military pistols and designed for worse case scenarios. That's how they win contracts. The hole allows you more purchase on the mag in the event a serious/life threatening malfunction.

So I field-stripped my Glock 17 and held it up to the light to see if there is an opening into the grip hole at the top of the frame. There is a bit of light spilling through, so yes, this hole does lead from the inside of your Glock to the outside. All the same, I'm skeptical. havilah ravula
