WebFitz-Hugh-Curtis Syndrome or Perihepatitis (5-10% of PID patients) Hematogenous or transperitoneal spread of Chlamydia or Gonorrhea to peri-hepatic region; Presents with right upper quadrant pain and tenderness, as well as Pleuritic Chest Pain; Liver Function Tests may be elevated; Tubo-Ovarian Abscess (17-20% of PID patients) WebFitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome is a condition characterized by the inflammation of the liver capsule. It occurs following a bacterial infection of the pelvic cavity that often affects sexually active young women. Symptoms of Fitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome include pain in the lower abdomen, fever, and nausea. The condition is treated with antibiotics.
