Cohesion penny lab
WebYou can use this lab when teaching scientific method (variables), chemistry (surface tension, cohesion), or to reinforce graphing and scientific testing skills. It is fun for students to come up with their own variables and test them as extensions (tap water vs. distilled, dirty penny vs. clean, etc). This lab is editable. Ma Subjects: WebTo demonstrate cohesion, it is useful to show attraction using magnets. To demonstrate adhesion, it is useful to place droplets of liquids on a surface (i.e. desk). During the lab, the measurements (number of drops on a penny before spilling) may be affected by the cleanliness of the penny.
