WebJan 25, 2014 · 7.62x39 is a fairly low pressure rifle cartridge, compared to 5.56, .308, and .30-06 the smaller bore may increase pressure a bit, but it's very unlikely to exceed .308 max pressures. Yes, I completely agree that it's not ideal to shoot slightly oversized bullets but if you keep it reasonable, there shouldn't be any problems.
